چکیده

Abstract Background The blast disease of rice caused by the fungus Magnaphorthe oryzae is one most destructive diseases in Nam Dinh province, Vietnam. This study aimed to isolate and screen antagonistic bacteria isolated from ( Oryza sativa ) against M. . Results In present study, 14 endophytic were roots a Ngoc Xuan variety province. result showed that 6 isolates vitro activity Of 6, 2 strains, ND06 ND10, molecularly identified as Bacillus velezensis Pseudomonas putida , produced significant inhibition on pathogenic growth with 62.87% 64.25%, respectively, while other 4 (ND03, ND07, ND09, ND11) weak inhibition. addition, ND10 strains also presented under greenhouse conditions. Moreover, screening plant growth-promoting (PGP) traits exhibited all 5 PGP including IAA production, phosphate solubilization, production ammonia, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC) deaminase, siderophore. experimental results indicated cultivar seedlings inoculated or strain enhancement agronomic parameters (root length, shoot dry matter, chlorophyll content). Conclusions root (ND06 ND10) possessed contemporarily multiple antifungal activity. These should be further characterized order confirm beneficial develop potential biofertilizer and/or biocontrol agent for sustainable production.

The Potential of Streptomyces as Biocontrol Agents against the Rice Blast Fungus, Magnaporthe oryzae (Pyricularia oryzae)

Rice is a staple food source for more than three billion people worldwide. However, rice is vulnerable to diseases, the most destructive among them being rice blast, which is caused by the fungus Magnaporthe oryzae (anamorph Pyricularia oryzae). This fungus attacks rice plants at all stages of development, causing annual losses of approximately 10-30% in various rice producing regions. Syntheti...

Exploring the Potentiality of Novel Rhizospheric Bacterial Strains against the Rice Blast Fungus Magnaporthe oryzae

Rice blast caused by Magnaporthe oryzae is a major disease. In the present study, we aimed to identify and evaluate the novel bacterial isolates from rice rhizosphere for biocontrol of M. oryzae pathogen. Sixty bacterial strains from the rice plant's rhizosphere were tested for their biocontrol activity against M. oryzae under in vitro and in vivo. Among them, B. amyloliquefaciens had significa...

Osa-miR169 Negatively Regulates Rice Immunity against the Blast Fungus Magnaporthe oryzae

miR169 is a conserved microRNA (miRNA) family involved in plant development and stress-induced responses. However, how miR169 functions in rice immunity remains unclear. Here, we show that miR169 acts as a negative regulator in rice immunity against the blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae by repressing the expression of nuclear factor Y-A (NF-YA) genes. The accumulation of miR169 was significantly ...

Multiple rice microRNAs are involved in immunity against the blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are indispensable regulators for development and defense in eukaryotes. However, the miRNA species have not been explored for rice (Oryza sativa) immunity against the blast fungus Magnaporthe oryzae, the most devastating fungal pathogen in rice production worldwide. Here, by deep sequencing small RNA libraries from susceptible and resistant lines in normal conditions and upon...

Rice blast fungus (Magnaporthe oryzae) infects Arabidopsis via a mechanism distinct from that required for the infection of rice.

Magnaporthe oryzae is a hemibiotrophic fungal pathogen that causes rice (Oryza sativa) blast. Although M. oryzae as a whole infects a wide variety of monocotyledonous hosts, no dicotyledonous plant has been reported as a host. We found that two rice pathogenic strains of M. oryzae, KJ201 and 70-15, interacted differentially with 16 ecotypes of Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). Strain KJ201 in...
